For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of David.
1 Save me, O God,
for the waters have come up to my neck.
2 I sink in the miry depths,
where there is no foothold.
I have come into the deep waters;
the floods engulf me.
3 I am worn out calling for help;
my throat is parched.
My eyes fail,

  1. God loves His people and they will praise Him. God will punish the evil and restore His people.
    Thank you God for your mercy and your love!

  2. David cries out to God in his sorrow and danger.
    Although he is in big trouble, he is relying on God.

    Save me, O God!
    My eyes fail while I wait for my God.
    But as for me, my prayer is to You,
    O Lord, in the acceptable time;
    O God, in the multitude of Your mercy,
    Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.
    Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good;
    Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.
    Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
    I will praise the name of God with a song,
    And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
    For God will save Zion
    And build the cities of Judah,
    That they may dwell there and possess it.
    Also, the descendants of His servants shall inherit it,
    And those who love His name shall dwell in it.

  3. What a great Psalm to turn to when we fell overwhelmed by life and especially when people are coming against us. God is a refuge in any storm and is able to handle any situation we find ourselves in. And how comforting to have someone like Him to turn to. Life and people throw us curve balls, but God is still able to knock them out of the park, both to His glory and ours and others ultimate benefit. It is important for us to trust and obey and be patient as he manages things. It is also interesting to see the Jesus reference in v21. How much we need His mercy, love and kindness in our lives, especially in hard times…and we know that we have it available to us whether we see it our feel it….

  4. Psalm 69: When we feel tired, worn out, and deserted, God is still with us. When we acknowledge our sin to him, we can have hope. Because of his great love and mercy, he forgives us and listens to our prayers. We can tell God the details about what is troubling us because he wants to hear what we have to say about what is going on in our lives. Praising God and glorifying him is the best thing we can do when we are in distress because it displays our trust and faith in all his promises and in his ability to always do what is best for us.
