Psalms 33-34 (NIV)

1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does..........Continue Reading

  1. The Lord sees each and every individual.

    “The Lord looks from heaven;
    He sees all the sons of men.
    From the place of His dwelling He looks
    On all the inhabitants of the earth;
    He fashions their hearts individually;
    He considers all their works.”

    He has plans for good for those who trust in Him.

    “Our soul waits for the Lord;
    He is our help and our shield.
    21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
    Because we have trusted in His holy name.
    22 Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
    Just as we hope in You.”

    “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    And His ears are open to their cry.”

    “But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”

    He will bring justice to the wicked and the nations’ plans are nothing.

    “The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.”

    “Evil shall slay the wicked,
    And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.”

    “The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
    He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
    11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
    The plans of His heart to all generations.”

  2. Amen to both psalms. i will show my ignorance again and say that I always pictured the psalmist with a harp on his hands singing great praises to the Lord in private. Well, I found out this was seldom the case and in fact they were usually sung in the temple or another worship/praise setting in a crowd. Makes sense to me.

  3. 4For the word of the Lord is right and true;
    he is faithful in all he does.
    5The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of his unfailing love.
    The world may want to look away from God, choose not to believe, or think that He has forsakes them but He is here now as He has always been since He created the earth. We are built on His words whether or not they accept them but He is waiting open arms when we choose to come to Him. Come taste and see that God is good!

  4. And how about this verse. 34-6. This poor man called out to the lord and he answered him. He saved him out of all his troubles. What a promise. I’m claiming!!

  5. Wow, what a great couple of Psalms! They are chock full of assurances from our great God, with many reasons to praise Him. His complete ability to know and help are emphasized here with that help coming to the righteous and the needy. Both are the recipients of the greatest blessing from God. Righteousness is because it is the only behavior and mindset that God can condone. The needy are because those are the ones who recognize how desperate they are for help and God’s help will lead to humility and not pride in them. It’s no wonder then that we would extol His name at every opportunity, that His praise will always be on our lips. It is easy with this understanding to taste and see that the Lord is good. But may we continue to seek and praise Him whether we appear to be needy or not.
