Reading along with us in selections from Psalms and Proverbs? Here’s today’s reading:
Psalm 36 (NIV)
For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord.
1 I have a message from God in my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
There is no fear of God

“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!”
How priceless indeed! After a season of gifts given and received and trying to be sure we adequately expressed our love, care, or gratitude to those in our lives through these gifts; we can only stop to reflect on the greatest gift of His love, mercy, and forgiveness which is so undeserved and yet always there for us in every season!
Psalm 36 juxtaposes the “sinfulness of the wicked” to the depths of the love, faithfulness and righteousness of God.
Verses 5-9 made for a great Third Day song.
Happy New Year everyone.
Psalm 36
He is saying he has a message in his heart the sinfulness of man. There is no fear of God in their eyes. They pat themselves on the back. Its all about themselves. What they say is is evil
Such a beautiful picture he paints for us. God’s love reaches to the heavens your faithfulness to the sky. Righteousness like the highest
Mountain. We hide in the shadows of your wings. What a wonderful and safe place to be.
What a contrast. Those who have no fear of God. Having no restraints. And those that know God is just and the fear of God and the love from God keeps us from sin. For with you is the fountain of life. In your light we see light!!
Psalm 36
God gives David a message about the character of the wicked. They think so highly of themselves that they believe that everything they do is wonderful. They know not what they are missing without God. The Lord’s love is all encompassing, we, his people, can rest in his good care, and we can release our burdens upon him. There is joy in knowing the Lord and our eternal destiny and that joy cannot be taken from us. And he will not let the proud raise a hand against us. Thank you, Lord for that.
Psalm 36
Psalm 36
Love the juxtaposition here (do I get bonus points for using that word). For those who don’t fear God and flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin comes downfall and destruction. For those who depend on God’s love comes provision and protection.
May we look at ourselves and our actions as God does.
Yes you do, as well as Steve!
Your love, your faithfulness, your righteousness, your justice is endless – so unfathomable….how is it that one would choose not to receive this gift of the fountain of life?
Psalm 36
Psalm 36
In spite of the deep seeded and unwavering evil of man, we always have a place to run and find a God whose goodness, righteousness, love, power and provision overarches and overcomes the wrong things humans are as well as what they do. How important it is to keep our hearts and eyes focused on God’s goodness so we will not be overcome by the evil of man and this world. Psalm 36: 5-7 is beautiful!
