Reading along with us in the first 30 chapters of Psalm? Here’s today’s reading:

Psalm 19 (ESV)

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,

  1. In the KJV, verse 7 is translated: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:” It is God’s word that converts, we don’t need to edit. And in verse 11, God’s word is clearly for warning God’s servants, and he will be rewarded for keeping it.

  2. The beginning of this Psalm reminds me of Romans 1:20…that God’s nature is so evident in creation that mankind is without excuse if they do not believe. Can’t you hear and see what creations says? God is real, He is powerful, He is loving and creative just to name a few. But not only is His creation awesome so is His word. His word and law are perfect, trustworthy, right and radiant. They are more valuable than all the world has to offer and greater than the things we would associate as the most valuable. I love Psalm 19:14. May it be true of me….and all of us….
