  1. The fear of the Lord continues in this Psalm and the benefits that come from it are expounded. Some may focus on the wealth and riches that are spoken of here, but the more powerful truth is that even in darkness the light dawns for the upright. Even in bad times and bad circumstances there is reason to praise God and find that good that is still true in spite of it. God’s truth will establish us in a way that will bring regard from people and will generate good things for us. It also provides a confidence in living that we don’t have to fear bad news. How great is that to be related to a God who knows everything and has foreseen what will happen so we have a strong foundation to live our lives on. We will be stable in our personhood which will translate to a stability when we engage with the vagaries of people and experiences that life brings. We can be the same in hope and peace regardless of what life throws at us because of who God is.

    All praise to His name!

  2. The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
    He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
    His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

    It is comforting to know that regardless of the evil news, believers need not be afraid. Our faith, our heart, our mind is steadfast on the Lord.

  3. 6For the righteous will never be moved;
    he will be remembered forever.
    7He is not afraid of bad news;
    his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
    8His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
    until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
    9He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
    his righteousness endures forever;
    his horn is exalted in honor.
