Invitations of Wisdom and Folly
1 Wisdom has built her house;
she has set up its seven pillars.
2 She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine;
she has also set her table.
3 She has sent out her servants, and she calls
from the highest point of the city,……Continue Reading

  1. God says that if you are simple but come to Him for wisdom, He will give it to you. This is godly wisdom, and not worldly wisdom. Many of us know and realized that we are simple, and God has granted us wisdom every time we have asked for it. He will continue to give us wisdom if we come in simple faith, believing for He never lies. I have seen first hand how He has done this for me since I became a believer when I was 20 years old and now am 72 years old. I like brother Mark truly understand this for out of three children, I was considered the dumb one. I have a learning disability. I had trouble reading when I was young but still graduated from high school because of hard work. It took me longer to study and do my homework. It wasn`t until I became a Christian and read His word that He continued to give me wisdom, For I always ask for His wisdom to understand His word. Since I became a Christian, I would read the Bible through every year. In my late 20`s the Lord led me to Bible school where I graduated in 1983. It was at this school that I learned what my disability was dyslexia. I believe that the Lord allowed me to go through this even as a child for His greater purposes for nothing ever came easy for me except for sports. I can look back now and see how God has worked throughout my life. I know that He will continue to lead and guide me and Melodye throughout and whatever He has in store for us. I never intended to write any of this, but I hope it can be of encouragement to others. Here are to the verses that stood out to me. Proverbs 9:4 {Whoso is simple, let him turn in hinder, as for him that wanted understanding—} This is wisdom speaking. Proverbs 9:9 {Give wisdom to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.} Proverbs 9:10 {The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding,} May God get the glory in everything we say and do.

  2. Earlier I watched The Passion of the Christ, and it was sure heartbreaking but real. I have never been able to watch it before but always wanted to. I have read books about it and of course the Bible, but have never since it like that. I am a visible person. Such great suffering for us and without it we would be doomed to Hell to pay for our own sins. Thank you, Lord Jesus for caring so much for us.

  3. ”“Come, eat of my bread And drink of the wine I have mixed. Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.“
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    Two women with an open invitation for dinner.

    Dine with wisdom and gain more wisdom. And lengthen your life.
    ”“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you.“
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    Dine with the foolish woman and eat stolen water and secret bread. It might “taste” sweet, but you are walking into hell.
    ”But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of hell.“
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  4. Wisdom sets up her house on a firm foundation and those who have it live long, fruitful, blessed lives. Fear God, know God, walk in the way of insight and understanding. Take the time to reflect and think about what is right and good. Turn away from people who intice with false claims about how to aquire wealth, happiness, beauty, and popularity . It is not wise to go after these things, because they amount to nothing.

  5. Thank you Dennis for sharing your experiences with us. It is an encouragement to know how God has worked in your life. Your words speak wisdom.

  6. There are basically two options in the world: wisdom and folly, and the difference between them is stark. Wisdom starts with understanding who God is and recognizing that He is the One to listen to and follow. But the simple will be informed and improved and continue to grow in the right way to be and they will be whole in themselves and right with people. They are by no means perfect, but they are willing to be corrected and will welcome it because they recognize that there are always gaps to be filled and deeper understanding to be found. A foolish person thinks of themselves and wants to be their own god and seek pleasure and gratification rather then the understanding of the divine and holy. They don’t want to be corrected because they like to think they are good just the way they are and who is anyone else to tell them what to do? But those who think they have life and want their own ways are dead. Those who die to themselves and thereby depend on God for how they will be are alive. And they and others will be benefited by the wisdom they have.
