  1. What a valuable lesson on giving is shared here that it is the relative value of a gift and the heart that it is given in that matters, not the amount. And Jesus shares what will happen in the near future and the far future here. Although some of the things He mentions happened in 70AD in the fall of Jerusalem, it is clear that other portions didn’t. We can therefore assume that we are waiting for those things to happen to give some indication of the signs of the end. Jesus shows His care for His people that He wants them to be prepared, but He also doesn’t want us to be consumed by predicting things either. Our trust is in God and how He will provide for however long we will be around rather than trusting in our ability to know whens and wherefores. It is more important that we remain faithful and continue to share the gospel until the Father sees fit for Jesus to return.

  2. Not sure I could give as much as this widow did if God asked me to give everything. Jesus now speaks of things to come in the future. I remember when I first became a Christian, a believer and I read that this gospel, this good news, must first be preached to all nations I wondered how that could be possible. Well not anymore. With technology today ! Good to have this knowledge. But truth is. I could be taken home today. Would I receive a “well done” hug? That’s my goal in life most important beyond all other concerns

  3. Day 9 5:14. Jesus speaks about giving and it’s not the quantity, but the generosity of the heart. This woman gave all she had not because she was told to but because of her extreme faith she had.
5:15 Jesus warns of what’s to come, especially to be watchful of the deceptiveness of churches and misleading people to suit their own needs. We are seeing that today with churches with rainbow flags out to draw people in. We are seeing nations rise against nation because of the evil in their hearts. Children disrespecting parents and those in authority because they are being raised without God. We need to stay in the word and not be afraid to share God’s truth whenever possible. We need to stay close to God.

  4. A heart to give with true sacrifice, this woman will feel the financial effects of her giving. What a testimony of faith and trust that God will provide and we are simply returning to Him what He has blessed us with.
Wow do we see already the things Jesus is speaking about with brother fighting brother, country fighting country and religion/politics are the driving force. There are so many that twist the words of God to fit their own agenda and people follow because it suits them as well. This is not a time to shy away but rather speak up and stand firm on His truths!

  5. “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’ ”….don’t let him find you sleeping on the job, what Jesus said to his disciples he said to everyone…. keep watch!
