  1. How comforting to know that Jesus has prepared a place for us, as long as we believe that He is the only way. And He can be the way because He represents us to the Father and the Father to us. To think the apostles were interacting with the Father as they interacted with Jesus because He and the Father are one. And when we are one with them, we can have an intimate relationship that leads to answered prayer and obedience. It is more than natural to love someone so good and to love Him is to obey Him. And yet He doesn’t leave our obedience to Him just on us. He sends us the Holy Spirt to come alongside us to foster that obedience as well as comfort us. And He desires that we have peace. A peace not based in the things of this world, but a peace knowing He is with us, that He loves us and He has a plan and provisions for our lives. Because of all the things we will receive from the Spirit, it is good that Jesus will leave the earth. Jesus must die and provide His righteousness and forgiveness in order for the Holy Spirit to live within us. And Jesus lays His life down so the world will know that He loves His Father.

  2. It is a comforting, feeling to know that when someone we love passes away like our parents that they are with JESUS.

  3. Yes Peter denies him. As we discussed at point men this month. What would we do if a gun was at our head and asked do you believe in Jesus. Me pretty sure at that point like Peter. I would lie. Always like to compare Peter at this point and after Pentecost. He’s in the streets . Telling all the people. Jesus. Who you crucified. Was the messiah. Holy Spirit power. Then my favorite of all conversations between Jesus and his apostles as he tells them he’s going to prepare a place for them and if he does that, he’s gonna come back and bring them to where he’s going. Now this is a promise straight from God. This promise you can take that to bank. This is forever. Jesus never lied. He didn’t know how to lie so this promise is true for us today and always, that we have heaven waiting for us, but then I love Thomas’s response. We don’t know where you’re going so how do we know the way and what does Jesus say that he is the mediator between man and God. There was a huge gap and he filled it. And then what does Philip say? just show us the Father and then we will believe. Jesus says to Philip, Philip you’ve been with me for a while now. How can you say if you’ve seen the father, if you’ve seen me you have seen the father. Absolutely love these verses!!

  4. Last nights. Wednesday night bible study. Was so powerful as we studied the word of God in Ephesians 5-14. Wake up, oh sleeper rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you hit me right between the eyes!! There’s certain Versus in scripture that do that. our God is a consuming fire, or the narrow path and only a few find it. well this is another one with all the noise and distractions in the world some days. I’m pretty close to being spiritually asleep. so important these days as Jesus return is coming soon to spend time in his word, to spend time in fellowship, and to spend time in prayer.

  5. Jesus did not just come and die and then leave us alone. He sends His Holy Spirit to live with us, in us, and through us. He equips us for every good work through His spirit. He leaves us with the same instruction as His apostles, to spread His love and share His truth but just as He walked with them and showed them the way He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to show us the way! Amazing provision and amazing love that we would have an intimate relationship with our Father in Heaven through the work of the Son empowered by the Holy Spirit!

  6. Jesus told his disciples that they knew the way to the place he was going. And Thomas did not get it so he asked “how do we know the way?” And Jesus responds, “because I AM the way, that’s how you know! I am in the Father and the Father is in me. I will give you the Holy Spirit, he will help you and be with you forever. I need to go to the Father to send you the Holy Spirit and to prepare a place for you.” And, that is what we can look forward to as we live in this world each day…because it will be AMAZING!!
