  1. Why are you looking for the living among the dead? Jesus is alive! What an amazing moment this must have been for each of these women and disciples as they realized all His words had come to pass. Not just when He told them that He would need to leave them and that He would die but also that He would rise again and conquer death and grave to save us!

  2. The only other explanation of an empty tomb was for those that loved him to steal the body. So the apostles stole the body while the guards were sleeping? Then how did they know it was the apostles. Rolling a 2ton stone away from the entrance. And carefully undoing the linens and the shroud And after the resurrection they stayed in Jerusalem preaching the gospel and dying a martyrs death? Always was my favorite holy day. As a kid I knew this to be true. The one time of year we would hear truth from catholic school. Love the angel who as scripture says had taken the 2 ton stone away sitting on it as to say what else am I to do The only answer to the empty tomb of Jesus. He rose from the dead stepping on satans throat and walked out defeating death and punching our tickets to eternal life. And he shall reign for ever and ever. Hallelujah!!!!!

  3. This translation makes it seem like everyone is at the tomb all at once, but i think there was a lot of coming and going with separate encounters at the tomb with angels, women, Peter, John, and various Marys at different times. Mary Magdalene sees Jesus first, because Jesus tells her not to touch him because he has not gone to the Father, but later He appears to other women and allows them to touch Him. Also later He tells Thomas to touch his nail-pierced hands. What a wonderful day!

  4. As it has been said, the stone was not rolled away to let Jesus out, but to let others in to be able to see that Jesus was raised. Something so contrary to the normal way it is hard for His followers to believe or understand, but seeing is believing. And I just love that Jesus takes time to present Himself to Mary, and it is by saying her name that she recognizes Him. It is how personally God cares for all of us. And although Jesus’ resurrection should be undeniable evidence that Jesus is who He is, hard hearted and evil men will find ways to corrupt the miracle and deceive others. I wonder how hard it was for them to live with the lie or were they so blinded by pride and self interest, that it didn’t even effect them? Well the testimony of the apostles has effected us and many others. And they would not have lived for Jesus or died for Him if they had stole the body.
