  1. Peter was so confident that he would not deny Jesus. Fear makes us do crazy things and this certainly was a scary situation. I don’t venture to guess if I were there that I would do any better. Angry mobs, powerful priests set on the death of Jesus. For Peter to see Jesus’ eyes when he denied Him that third time, how that must have hurt. The reality is each time we sin we hurt our Father. Each time we don’t share His truth or take a stand against what we know to be wrong we are acting out of fear and denying who is the true Lord of our lives. Learning to operate in the love of God rather than our own fears is a daily battle and something we need to be constantly working on because this world is not getting any friendlier to Christianity and often we will be in situations like Peter, will we deny Him or be strong and courageous??

  2. Feeling empty. At a hotel without life of Jesus book. Gonna guess it’s the night court with the false accusations. This week and all that transpired. Is beyond words. Totally overwhelming. God SO loved the world.!! I’m so underserving. Grace the outmost greatest gift!!.

  3. Found a life of Jesus book!! Amazed this week the greatest week in all of mankind and there’s not 30-50 comments

  4. Being told it would be him that would 3 times deny being a follower of Jesus, and being absolute that of course he wouldn’t do such a thing…Peter went on and did just that! Obviously he doubted and did not believe in what Jesus’ predicted of him. He lost his “unshakable “ faith. Did Peter really think he wouldn’t be found out? In complete denial…..and then the rooster crowed!!!

  5. The other follower with Peter was John who according to scripture knew the high priest. He is the one that spoke up for Peter to allow him to enter. Ater Peter denied that he knew Jesus the third time and the rooster crowed twice, Jesus turned and looked at Peter. Jesus said that this would happen, and it came true. I believe that the look that Jesus gave Peter was one of compassion and love, and not one of judgement. Jesus had prayed earlier for Peter that he would lead and help his fellow believers stay strong and follow the Lord. Jesus knew that Satan wanted to destroy Peter. The Lord knew that Peter would fail when he denied the Lord, but it wouldn`t stop there. After the resurrection of Christ, Peter could hardly believe that Jesus rose again. Could it be true? He found out that it was true and lived for Christ encouraging his fellow believers to live for Christ. Peter according to tradition was nailed to a cross upside down for he felt he wasn`t worthy to die the same way that Christ died. In fact, 10 of the disciples died for Christ in one way or another proclaiming Christ. John lived to be an old man yet was also persecuted and people tried to kill him but, he lived to be an old man. The other disciple was Judas Iscariot who hung himself. So, 11 of the disciples lived and died for Christ. Later, the disciples chose another to replace Judas as the 12th. Thank God that He doesn`t give up on us when we fail but is waiting for us to take His hand and raise up to follow Him. Seek Him, Serve Him.
