Reading along with us in Job & Hebrews? Here’s today’s reading:

Job 9 (NIV)

Job
1 Then Job replied:
2“Indeed, I know that this is true.

  1. Chapter 9 describes such power, splendor and the majesty of God. Job sees all this around him and acknowledges it, yet it seems to continue to challenge him even though he knew he had no right to question God. But now he’s at his wits end with frustration, terror, despair and despise of himself, wishing he had a mediator between himself and God to plead on his behalf.
We however know there is no one that can bridge that gap for us but Jesus. Having given himself as a ransom for us makes him our mediator.
God will save us through his righteousness not our righteousness, as we are all mortal sinful men.

Vs. 4b “who has resisted him and come out unscathed?”

  2. Wow, I just left an extended comment on this passage and then got bumped off. I will have to redo later. I am so sorry when and if that happens to anyone else. If it does, please let us know. We are changing our website to hopefully address such things

  3. How blessed are we to have Jesus as our mediator! Jesus made a way for us to come before God as we could never get there on our own. Job is so overwhelmed at the power, majesty, and authority of God and unfortunately he is on the negative receiving end of that. It did make me think that for as overwhelmed as Job is, it is that same power, majesty, and authority that fights for us when we stand with Him. Overwhelming but in a much better way!
