1 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
2“How long will you say such things?
Your words are a blustering wind.

Does the Almighty pervert what is right?……Continue Reading

  1. Reading job always hits me the same way. To trust God no matter what? Or to give in to does God exist. Or even care. A Good man suffering from no fault of his own. And bad people. Prospering. Sin has twisted justice and made our world unpredictable. A fallen world. So many books and lessons on how to go through trials. Only one book needed. I am with you always to the end of the age. In this life you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world. I will NEVER leave you or forsake you. Truths that speak louder as trials get stronger. Eliphaz. Bildad zophar. Remember a time in my Christian walk around 1995. New pastor entered our church. A coup began of sorts from 3 of my closest Christian brothers. I confronted them in disagreement. Soon being accused of sinning and being under the influence of Satan. Found myself by myself for seemed like eternity. They influenced Many. Eventually splitting the church and eventually the church closed its doors. They came along another church and caused division there also. Very tough time for me not understanding all that was taking place. Alone and confused. But one thing kept me going. The lord would never leave me or forsake me.

  2. Bildad comes in hot! The funny thing about his harsh words to Job are that they are filled with truths, just none of them actually apply to Job. We can learn from the past and should consider the wisdom of others or even our own past mistakes to change our course to not make them again. People can be like papyrus or a spider web that can appear to be successful on the surface but without God are actually fragile and vulnerable to the destruction of sin. Overall, Bildad’s message was less polite but the same as Eliphaz, Job needs to get right before God because he MUST have done something to deserve all that is happening. Still no one is consulting God in this and just making their own obvious deductions knowing nothing of what is really happening.

  3. May we be more compassionate than Bildad if we ever find ourselves ministering to someone who has lost so much. It may be fine to suggest what God is doing and ask the person to consider our counsel, but it is not wise to presume. He is right to say that God favors the obedient and the disobedient don’t have a leg to stand on (or a marsh to grow in), and that things would turn around for Job and God’s favor would be upon him if Job returned to God. He could never imagine that Job is actually being used as God’s instrument in a cosmic interchange where satan himself has caused the calamity that has happened with God’s permission, bordering on suggestion…..
