Reading along with us in Job? Here’s today’s reading:
Job 31 (NIV)

Job very much lays it on the line in this chapter. After enduring so much false accusations from his “friends”, he puts himself before God and welcomes Him to judge him if his life has been off in any way. He has strove to be right before God in all that he has done, but if he has missed something, He wants God or others to point it out. It is a logical step for Job and a fitting conclusion to his words addressed to his counselors. But in it, Job maintains the understanding that his life stands before God to see and evaluate. It is true for all of us, and we are wise to remember it.

Job 31
Job certainly goes through every aspect of his life to be searched by God for any misdoing. He hits all the typical stumbling blocks we face lust, greed, adultery, treatment of others, pride, and idolatry. He concludes the chapter leaving his judgement in God’s hands. He is clearly done with trying to argue with his friends and defending himself. He leaves it in the hands of the one that matters most, God, and there is no need for him to argue with God who already knows everything!
