Job 10 (NIV)

1“I loathe my very life;
therefore I will give free rein to my complaint
and speak out in the bitterness of my soul.
2I say to God: Do not declare me guilty,
but tell me what charges you have against me.
3Does it please you to oppress me,
to spurn the work of your hands,……Continue Reading

  1. Job 10 . I think we can all sympathize with Job at this point. He is broken, not knowing why all this calamity has fallen on him. questioning God and himself and asking why is this happening to him?

  2. For some of us, myself included, it’s hard not to think that we have done something wrong and are being punished for it when we are suffering immensely. We are all guilty of a multitude of sins, so the devil can come in and use that to try to destroy us. We must hold our heads up and keep telling ourselves that we are righteous because of what Jesus did and God loves us as his own. And if we need to repent of our sin, then we can do so and then move forward basking in the love, forgiveness and peace of God. So, don’t give the devil a foothold and remember Romans 5:20 …But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  3. It is sad that Job does not know of heaven and see a hope at the end of his life here on earth. We are so blessed to know there is so much more than this earthly life. That we have eternity in Heaven at our Father’s side. This makes the pain of suffering easier and the fear of death distant. It is not surprising to see people who do nnot believe there is anything beyond this life cling so desperately to it, to store away material things because they feel once they are gone so is all of that. They don’t see that this life on earth is fleeting and nothing compares to eternity with Him!

  4. How easy it is when we are suffering to think that God is somehow against us or we have a target on our back and think God is happy hitting it. And even though it is hard, it is at these times that we must press into the reality of who God is and cling to the truth of Him never leaving us or forsaking us. Now it is easier for us to understand when God is not working for us when we do wrong, but Job’s struggle is knowing that he has done well, why has God seemingly forsaken him? Scriptures like this show us that God is big enough to hear our complaint and dissolution, but faith can help us overcome and trust that God does know what He is doing.

  5. It’s easy to think God is against us when we suffer difficult things in our life but we have to remember that God has a purpose and a plan for everything. What we see as difficulties, God may be working for His glory – e.g., maybe to uplift someone who sees our strength through the difficulties.
