  1. So here we are introduced to Job and are made aware of the kind of interactions God and satan have over human kind. I found it funny to imagine which word God emphasized when asked satan “Where have you come from?” May we be the kind of people that God would be able to point to and recognize us for our godly character and actions. And it is truly amazing that after all that happens to Job, he orients his thoughts to God, trusting Him for all that He has done and is doing, and praising Him because He is worthy of worship regardless of our circumstances. Nothing can change who God is or the fact that He is sovereign and good…and so there is always a reason to praise Him. And if we grieve, we don’t grieve like the rest of the world that has no hope.

  2. Job 1 wow talk about getting some bad news one thing right after the other and then to be able to praise God in the end . I’d like to say that I could do the same, but knowing me, I don’t think so. good job job !

  3. Yeah, Satan was roaming throughout the earth all right. I’m sure his eyes lit up when God mentioned Job, for surely he wanted to get his hooks into him. “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

  4. It is important to have this interaction between God and Satan, without it we might assume Job did do something to merit such affliction to come upon him. When writing this, God wanted it to be clear that this was something He allowed to happen making the story of Job that much more poignant. I do not know that for as many times as I have said “the Lord giveth and the lord taketh away” I ever really understood that statement the way Job experienced it, and even at my extremely smaller scale, I am not sure I had such peace with it as Job does in the face of such loss! Satan came out swinging and Job stood strong trusting in God!

  5. “In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
It is interesting to see this spiritual perspective between God and Satan. There is a spiritual battle going on. Here we see the physical tactics Satan uses to mess with Job’s mind. Over all we see that God is sovereign over all and Satan needs permission to touch Job. Job’s soul is what is at stake, God knows Job and is confident of his faithfulness, but he has a test, several tests to endure.
