Jeremiah 48

I do feel your pain Mark, but appreciate the perseverance that all have had going through Jeremiah. But here Moab, a distant relative of the Jews (Moab was Lot’s son and Lot was Abraham’s nephew), is told of their judgement. They had been perpetual enemies of the Jews, and whenever Israel was down, Moab would gloat or take advantage. That is why their is a bit of an expectation that they would know God and should have followed Him and are judged because of their disobedience and pride. They were known as a warrior people, but that won’t matter when God’s hand is against them. It is because of their relationship with the Jews that they are promised restoration at the end of the chapter as well. It just doesn’t work to do things against God and His will. We will learn that the easy way, or the hard way…..
