The Lord Will Be Israel’s Shepherd
1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? 3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.........Continue Reading

  1. So God is upset with the king and the priests that have not done their job of caring for people’s physical and spiritual needs. They have only worried about themselves and forgot their responsibility to shepherd the flock. While leadership in a church or a government has an obligation to care for people even today we all have been called as ambassadors for Christ and we should take the job of caring for people very seriously! We are to help those in need and do it it to the Glory of the Good Shepherd, the Lord our God!

  2. Sweet promise not only for the nation of Israel but for everyone who believes.. prophetic words that we hang on to..

  3. Leadership is very important in God’s economy and leaders are to think of others more than themselves. But the leaders entrusted with caring for Israel were doing no such thing. They will be brought to task for their misuse of their authority and their disregard for God’s people. And yet God will compensate for that and take care of the people Himself. He will protect and provide but also correct them as any good shepherd would. He will also bless the land and take care of the curse on it so they can feed the way they need to. He will also put David over them to be the shepherd that they need. It just goes to show that God is always trying to find a path of provision and blessing for us. His future is always full of hope. It’s just a matter of whether we will put ourselves under His care and follow…..

  4. God says the shepherds cared more for themselves than the people they were in charge of .they did no care for their flock. They did not strengthen the weak or heal the sick or bound up the injured. Their flock was scattered among the nations and they never even tried to find them. The Lord said he will rescue them himself and remove the shepherds. He will remove all the scattered from the nations and a day with clouds and darkness. How amazing that God is doing this. He loves his people and shows them he is their God.

  5. Jesus is the Great Shepherd leading his flock. John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
