Reading along with us in Deuteronomy and Corinthians? Here’s today’s reading:

Deuteronomy 11 (NIV)

Love and Obey the Lord
1 Love the Lord your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. 2 Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the Lord your God: his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm;……Continue Reading

  1. The importance of obeying God. When we obey we will experience God’s blessing and provision and when we do not we will experience curses. But we must write His word on our hearts, we must be sure to spend time in His word and engage with it, teach it to our children and allow it to transform our hearts and minds because the blessings are not necessarily an easy life here on earth but rather the Hope in knowing He is with us and we will be with Him in eternity.

  2. Love the Lord thy God and keep his requirements his decrees. Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds teach them to your children talking about them when you sit at home when you lie down and when you get up. If only. What a world we would live in.

  3. Deuteronomy 11

It is spelled out in this passage multiple times for all to read. Love God and be obedient to Him! This message is so simple in context, yet difficult due to our human and sin nature. It is the power of the Spirit that lives in us that gives us the strength and focus to stay on course and be that which God instructs us to be.

  4. Deuteronomy 11
The Lord states if You obey commands. I am giving you. It gives us strength to go in and take over land and so that you may live long and the land it’s for your ancestors to give to them in their descendants and land flowing with milk and honey.only. Love, obey and observe. We will have blessings if we obey and curses if we disobey.

  5. Good comment Kelly. We need to hide God`s word in our heart that we may not sin against Him. Psalm 119:11 {Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee.} Psalm 1:2,3 {But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper}. We are to teach the scriptures to our children and grandchildren as the people of Israel were instructed to do all generations. When they were in their house or walking. They were to write the scriptures down so they could learn them. They read and memorized God`s word. What a challenge to us to really know God`s word and the person of Christ Jesus. God bless us as we draw closer to Him.

  6. Moses reenforces for this new generation of Israelites what should be true of all of us, to love God and obey Him wholeheartedly. To do that we must have the word of God ever present in our lives. What is good for us is that God writes His word on our hearts and we have the Holy Spirt in us reminding us of what God has said. But we still must engage in it and choose with our will to follow. And I liked how God talked about being mindful of the land and promising to prosper them in many ways as they followed Him. Our blessings may be different, but we too will be blessed when we follow Him consistently.
