  1. For a child is born to us a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders, and he will be called wonderful counselor,
MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING, FATHER PRINCE OF PEACE HIS GOVERNMENT IN ITS PEACE WILL NEVER END

  2. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas as we recognize just who Jesus is and what He brings to our spirit, giving life and that more abundantly. I was struck by Jesus responding to someone who wanted to follow Him and Jesus saying the Son of Man had no place to lay His head. Isn’t it such a testimony to who Jesus is that He was dedicated to go from town to town sharing His message and the Son of man did not garner possessions while He was on this earth? And yet we have so many blessings in this country and families as we have followed His principles of responsibility, hard work and treating people well. It is also because many in the country have recognized Jesus as the good Shepherd and have come to God through Him as the gate. Certainly there are people that have taken advantage of people and not protected them as a shepherd would. They are the robbers and the hired hands. We do well to listen to the voice of the Shepherd regardless of where He leads us. Because following Jesus will take commitment, dedication and focus. Because He still desires to send us out just like He did the 12 and now here the 72. He gives them similar instructions and provisions (power) that He gave the 12. And it struck me that Jesus sent them to the towns He was going to. So Jesus had a strategy for what He was doing and He was not asking other people to do what He was unwilling to do. May we be prepared to have the conversations that people need us to have as we seek to share the good news of Jesus!
