  1. And so we stand the good seeds among the weeds. There will be a harvest and those that believe will spend eternity in heaven and those that chose not to believe will end up in hell. In the meantime we stand together on this earth and we need to know if more often are we bringing people to God or are we getting caught up in the weeds? We must stand firm in out faith knowing that the One that the wind and waves obeys stands with us. Sometimes it feels hard like the weeds are taking over but we know that it is just temporary and when the harvest happens God will take us to be with Him. We stand strong and courageous and tell others the truth of the gospel so they might join us in eternity and not the other way around!

  2. So many principles found in these varied sections. But first we have the gracious and powerful way that God’s work inside us and outside us works. It is not so much by our effort, but by His. It starts off small but grows in influence and impact, and it is a permeating work that affects all it touches. We should have such joy over finding it, that we sacrifice everything to get it. And yet the reality that Jesus warns us about is that amongst us will be evil people that will be tools of satan, weeds and bad fish. He will allow them amongst us until the judgment where they will be exposed for who they are and will receive the fitting punishment that God sees fit. And just in case we are wondering if we should trust Jesus that much to give ourselves fully to Him, the wind and the waves obey Him and He has evil spirits recognizing His authority over them and asking Him to be merciful to them. You just have to love that Jesus is asleep when the storm rages. It is a fitting picture depicting God’s stance as we freak out around circumstances and people. And what freedom Jesus provided for this demon possessed man and yet like some who are confronted by Jesus’ power and authority to make decisions that they don’t like. these towns people ask Jesus to stay away. And Jesus obliges.

  3. Whenever I read Jesus calming the seas. I can so relate. Having a huge draw to the ocean my whole life. I’ve been in a few storms at sea where I questioned if I would make it home. Once in a boat that lost power. Hit by another boat. Cut our boat in half. Another throwing buckets over the stern of boat to slow down the water coming down the back of 15- 20ft waves. Another taking waves over the bow with water up to my knees. 10 miles from point Judith at night. Fear or faith that God would save me and I was on his timeline. Not mine. No fear going forward. Whenever My father has chosen to take me home. Is ok with me. In the meantime. Press on to win the prize

  4. It is interesting to ponder the parable of the wheat and the weeds. God says to let both grow up together until the harvest. I like Kelly’s comment to not get “caught up in the weeds” that makes a lot of sense, it is so easy to do. On the other hand, as a church we should not allow sin, false doctrine, etc to infiltrate. I believe our leadership has done a good job with this. It is a hard thing to discern at times, wheat from weeds, a sinner may truly repent and “switch sides”. Only God really knows wheat from weeds (although sometimes allegiances are obvious.)
I couldn’t help but think, as a gardener whether it is wise not to weed my garden. 🤣 in some ways I do not weed my garden, and there is a concept now called “no-till” gardening emphasizing the need to not disturb the micro-biome in the soil allowing for better plant growth. 🤔
