  1. As if Jesus had not done enough miracles to show that He was not only from God, but was God, but these opposers have the audacity to ask for a miracle. So Jesus makes clear that we are off base when we require a sign from God, and so we have to make that God’s decision how He chooses to work and not work. But the sign that will be given to them is the sign that should cause everyone to believe, and that is Jesus will die and then be raised. And it is those who hear God’s truths and obey them that have a special relationship with Jesus, not His biological family. We should strive to be the good soil that bears much fruit for God. We also need to be aware when we are dealing with people what kind of soil they are choosing to be and moderate our expectation when people are not growing the way they should. We should all grow as best we can, gaining the understanding that is possible and letting God work as much as He can within us.

  2. Didn’t matter what new miracle Jesus could have done. They were never going to believe. Bad comparison. But it’s like speaking to someone about politics today. Jesus talking about God‘s family such comforting words I heard yesterday at church when one guy said I’ve tried other churches, but when I walked into Living Hope Christian Church, it was such a friendly church that I just felt so welcome. I’d like to say that if you want to understand what Jesus is talking about, take a look at Living Hope Christian Church and a love that we have for each other. a great parable Jesus speaks of the sower, throwing seed by hand. I was thinking of this in the past few weeks where I remember climbing a mountain and at the top of that mountain there were a few trees growing through the rocks 3000 feet above Sea level. Some days it feels like that as the enemy has us chasing our tails going 1000 miles an hour. a life packed with materialistic pursuits, which over crowds our pursuit of God and leaves us unfruitful for Him.

  3. Faith is believing in what you cannot see. Asking for miracles is evidence of lack of faith. You are saying you need to see it to believe it. We have evidence of God without him needing to put on a dog and pony show for us. We exist because of Him and we are saved because of Him and for that we believe.
The more you need to see or touch something the more you fall into the category of someone who’s seeds have not taken root annd are easily stolen away or quickly taken over by something else. The more we allow God’s words to grow in our lives the deeper the roots and strength to believe without seeing and even at times when it seems like things are so bad. You can face the storm and say no signs and wonders needed, I know He is still here!

  4. Jesus said, the people who hear the teaching of God and obey it will reap many blessings. The Bible is our instruction manual for life. It gives us wisdom, knowledge and truth about who God is and why it is important to do what is right. It tells us that God loves us, he is with us, that we can walk by faith not fear. It will get us to a place where the Lord wants us to be and give us a sense of purpose in our lives so we will have the desires of our heart.

  5. I was thinking of the parable of the soil/seed just yesterday. One thing that was reinforced to me in real life application is that, as believers casting seed, we are not responsible for the soil. We are to cast the Word and not worry about the reception. Of course, sometimes you can recognize good soil, but sometimes the worst looking “soil” to us, will allow the word to take root despite the circumstances.
