  1. And the sheep listen to the voice of the Shepherd. He calls his own sheep using their names. The sheep follow him because they know his voice. The sheep will never follow someone they don’t know. They will run away from him because they don’t know his voice. Yes, even the spirits obey you and you can be happy. Not because you have this power because your names are written in heaven.

  2. What benefits we have with Jesus as our shepherd. Any other voices in our head that are not His are seeking our harm, not our help. We are wise to listen to His voice and privileged that He would guid us in such personal and caring ways. It is beyond comprehension that He would lay down His life for sheep like us. How awesome is it that He is the One that lays it down and also has the right to lift it up and the Father was the One Who told Him He could do it. It is not easy to follow Jesus and we need to be careful of the distractions that come in that would take us away from God’s plan and purposes. Our true privilege is to represent Him and be sent to a world that desperately needs Him. And some will accept that truth and some will reject it, but they are rejecting Jesus and not us. And when we walk in service to Him, He will be with us and provide the things we need to lead people to Him. Let us be the workers that we pray to the Father for!

  3. Most times sheep are considered stupid or blindly following without knowledge. In general we do NOT want to be sheep and blindly following. We DO want to be Jesus’ sheep. We do want to follow Him in total faith. It’s not about who the sheep are but who Jesus is: the gate, the shepherd who owns the sheep, gave His life for the sheep, leads the sheep, protects the sheep. Jesus’ sheep listen to Jesus, they know His voice, they follow His voice only, they won’t follow someone they don’t know, Jesus knows their names, and they know Him.

    Be a sheep of Jesus.
