  1. Just when the Jews and their leaders thought they had taken care of their Jesus problem, here are His followers doing the same work that He did. It is interesting to see that Peter and John are still following the dictates of their Jewish faith by going to the temple, and yet it is in this context that Peter offers this healing in the name of Jesus Christ. And sure enough the man is healed and it is shown that death cannot stop Jesus and His power being active on the earth. And Peter once again uses the miracle to give the people a message that shows what God thought of Jesus, how they treated Jesus, who Jesus really was and what He accomplished, and what they should do in response. They are to change their minds about Jesus (repent) and believe Him for who He is. As Messiah, they were instructed to do everything that He said. May we do the same as we seek to honor Jesus as believers in Him.

  2. Like Jesus, we see Peter reminding the people that it is faith that made the man healed. Believing in something we do not see and that we do not understand but still have an assurance that it is there. Peter reminds them that Jesus came to die for them and that this miracle of healing is nothing in comparison to the gift of eternal life they receive as a result. The same gift available to us today but we must have faith to recieve that gift and be willing to turn away from the old and step into the new life He provides.

  3. Acts 3 – shows the power of healing and forgiveness. They healed the lame man because of the faith they have in Jesus, John and Peter are continuing the work of Jesus. They tell the people who saw this to repent for their sins especially of not believing when Jesus was doing miracles before them and yet they picked to save a murderer instead of Jesus. Peter is telling them it’s not too late to accept Jesus. That’s what we have to remind people of, God made it possible for the disciples to carry on the work of Jesus and to not forget what he did for them and us we must turn from our wicked ways and follow Jesus.

  4. Amen pastor. Still amazing that Christianity was started by these 12 men. Not kings or diplomats. Very average men. 3000 added chapter 2. Peter hits right between the eyes again holding nothing back. Letting the men of Israel know. You killed him but God raised Him! Adding many more the beginning of Christianity. The difference between all other religions. We have a risen savior!!

  5. John and Peter heal the lame man in Jesus’ name and by His power. Peter tells the Jews the whole story and their part in it, Even Back to the prophecies given to them and how Jesus fulfilled them and will continue to.
