2 Peter 3 (NIV)

The Day of the Lord
1 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. 2 I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.…..Continue Reading

  1. As much as the world discredits and dismisses God and His ways, we should embrace and declare the benefits of them. God manages things according to His ways and we should never interpret from them that He is taking too long. He will bring about the end in the way and the time that is right, but the day of the Lord will come, and it will then be clear to all who God is and that He deserves to be worshipped. But rather than worry ourselves over the whens and whats of all that, we should be more concerned about how we are living. Are we living in such a way that reflects His value to the world? Are our lives contagious drawing people to God? Are we praying for unbelievers and looking for opportunities to share our faith in Him and the cross? I assure you we will be happy if we did when He comes…..

  2. Some many speculate and try to figure out the day of Jesus’ return. Our minds deal on such a finite level that what we consider to be a long time is no time at all to God. But one thing God’s word always tells us is to be prepared for the day of His return. Live like it is today; be a good steward, love others, share His good news, and do not become comfortable in this world and with the things of it.

  3. 2 Peter 3
The Lord is patient with us not wanting anyone to perish but all to come to repentance. The Lord’s patience means salvation. We must always be ready for Christ’s return, we need to continually pray for those who have turned their backs on God. We live in a fallen world so our light needs to shine to win others to Christ.

  4. Good reading. Blessed to have Peter writing on a Christian’s life and service to God. Paul as Peter mentions was saved by grace not the law. To think of the end times and all that is written about it. It’s good to know. But so much more important. Your life could be taken from you today. Where is your soul going and what will the Lord say about your time here on earth.!!! Bring glory to Him by just being yourself for His kingdom. That’s an abundant life !!

  5. Scoffers say “where is this Jesus who is supposed to be coming back?” They don’t understand the concept of time in God’s terms. A day is like a thousand years. They don’t understand his love for all mankind. The Lord will continue to be patient so that the last person to be saved has had the opportunity to do so. They don’t understand that all God has to do is speak it into being. Then it will happen like a thief in the night, the judgement will be upon us and the earth will be laid bare, destroyed by fire. And what are we to do in the meantime, while these scoffers ridicule us? Peter says to live righteously, anticipate the coming of the Lord, be at peace with him, and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  6. Peter tells us that all the earth will be dissolved with burning heat, and yet we look forward to that day, because we are secure in Christ.
We look forward to a new heavens and earth.
“Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,”
    ‭‭II Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
