Back: Nehemiah 4
Money trouble interupts the building. The unfortunate truth that money often is the root problem of many situations. People cannot serve two masters and our sinful nature and money are not good bedfellows. People with money end up just wanting more and more of it and typically at the expennse of others well being. Nehemiah doesn’t just call people to live by a better, Godly standard; he follows his own advice. He refuses to take advantage of God’s people as he acts others to do the same. When we deal with money we have to always keep a godly perspective, is what we are doing to earn money ethical and right in the eyes of God. Honest wage for an honest days work, if its a “get rich quick” thing likely it is not what God would want us to do.
