  1. God’s will is fulfilled as Israel comes to make David king. And he is the one who roots out the Jebusites that others had not been able to overcome, and yet how fitting for it to happen now, with God’s help, so Jerusalem would be called the city of David. And good leadership tends to draw good men. These mighty men were outcasts from society that joined David as he was fleeing Saul. Their bravery and strength is noted and how fitting that they be listed as they stuck by David through thick and thin.

  2. It is good to be surrounded by good people. It is also kinda cool that David’s mighty men were a bit of a mess to start and it reminded me of Jesus’ apostles. Both took men that were unaccepted and yet became this strong, loyal group. David’s mighty men sounded like something right out of an action adventure movie, the things they did and accomplished were pretty amazing.
