  1. A couple of things I noted about Solomon’s preparation for buiding the temple. Solomon goes to Hiram who had ties to his father, David. It isn’t clear if he was a follower of God but he had clearly received some spiritual counsel from David when he was alive. This showed that Solomon’s intent for this temple was that it would be for anyone who wished to follow God, Jew or Gentile. To honor God, Solomon also used only the finest material from top to foundation. It says even the stones used in the foundation were costly ones. Take away from this chapter for me was that anything we do for God should be done well and that relationship is important while we are doing His work.

  2. David desires to build a house for God but God through Nathan tells David that he is not to build it but his son. For there was war among the nations during David`s time but there would be peace when it is built. I believe that David provided the plans for the Lord`s house and the palace to Solomon. But it was Solomon that followed through with it all. There also were the plans that God gave through Moses. God provided peace among the nations for this to happen. God bless.

  3. David desired to build a house for God and He said, “no I will build you a house.” He also said, David’s son would build Him a house and here the planning and preparing begins.

”“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.“
    ‭‭II Samuel‬ ‭7‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
