David’s Victories

  1. God granted David many victories. David knew the praise and glory that they were receiving belonged to the Lord.

  2. Have a hard time thinking God gave victory after victory to David. Killing thousands of people. But then I remind myself how many will be killed in our lords victory when he returns. And deservingly so

  3. Military victory is something God promised the Jews would follow obedience. It is telling to read of these places where David gained victory where in other times these same nations had victory over the Jews when Israel was disobedient. Military conquest was a pretty regular part of life at this time in human history. And that’s why military victory is a sign of His hand being upon His people. And David is right to dedicate his plunder to God, the true source of His victory. God’s blessing of us comes in different ways and our victories are more spiritual in nature. May we be courageous and victorious in our battles as well as we confront sin, satan and the influence of the world.
