Reading along with us in Song of Solomon? Here’s today’s reading:

Song of Solomon 5 (NIV)

I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey;
I have drunk my wine and my milk.

  1. Her description of her love again is one that shows how much she loves him. Verse 7 made me wonder about vulnerability in our relationships when she daydreams that she is wounded while looking for her love. We must never take love and intimacy for granted in our relationships as it leaves us so easily open to hurt. The old addage you always hurt the one you love can be so true because they are closest they get the best of us but sadly more often the true worst as well.

  2. Her heart for her husband has overtaken her dreams.
    I think I have had dreams like this:
    Someone I love calls me and I don’t or can’t pick up the phone. It’s a physical impossibility in the dream, but I don’t know why. Then I try to call them back and I keep messing up their #. Then I awake frustrated, but relieved that the relationship is still secure.
    It was just a dream.

    “This is my beloved,
    And this is my friend,
    O daughters of Jerusalem!”

    Our spouse, should be our friend. 🙂

  3. I certainly hope what is described here is a dream as the watchman do the opposite of what they should be doing…harming instead of protecting. But what a great compliment to another to be so enamored with them that you dream about them..assuming the dream is pleasant that is….
