Romans 8 (NIV)

Life Through the Spirit
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering...........Continue Reading

  1. 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,8:38 Or nor heavenly rulers neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    Such hope, joy, and peace in these verses! We know life is not easy but there is so much power in knowing we are not alone but that we have the creator of the heavens and the earth with us. He gave His son for us so we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him that makes the trials of this so much easier to face!

  2. Romans 8 is a great chapter- If God is for us then who can be against us. There is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus. We have sonship with God when we live by the spirit and not by the flesh. There is so much in this chapter to be thankful for what Christ has done for us.

  3. A great chapter it is Cindy! All that the sin nature was not able to accomplish with the law, God seeks to get done with His Spirit within us. In fact the presence of the Spirit in our lives will be the mark of us truly being of Christ and saved. And yet we must still do our part. The Spirit encourages good things in us, but we must set our minds on those things the Spirit desires and not on the things the sin nature desires. Otherwise we will see our sin nature raised from the dead. But the Spirit not only helps us with this internal dynamic, but He also prays for us. As we groan in life over the trials we face, the Spirit groans in prayer for God’s will to be done in us, for us and through us. And as the Spirit works on the inside and outside, God the Father is working to make good come out of every situation. And if the work of the Spirit and the Father isn’t enough, the Son sets us in right relationship with God so no one has the right to make a charge against us that God Himself would not make, and He affirms the love God has for us that makes us say confidently that NOTHING can separate us from it!!!!!

  4. This is my favorite chapter of the Bible. A woman at Bible Study Fellowship recited nearly the whole thing during a teaching one night and I was inspired to memorize. It’s the perfect chapter to “hide in my heart”.

    “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
    “For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
    37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
