Reading along with us in some selections from Psalms and Proverbs? Here’s today’s reading:
Psalms 37 (NIV)
Of David.
1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
The contrast between the unGodly rich in this world and being under the wings of God as a child of God in this world is no brainer. Set your eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. Can’t imagine going through this life without hope, peace and joy from above. Now we are seeing what we have sown we will reap. EVERY problem in today’s world. We have turned our backs on God, we have lost our first love. Because many choose to not believe. God has put many over to a depraved mind. (not knowing right from wrong). Thank God there is still a strong church in this country. Praying!!
Luke 24: Jesus was so compassionate with His disciples who didn’t understand. He showed them proof of his crucifixion and even ate with them showing that he had a human body again and was not a ghost. Thank you Jesus!
Psalms 37: it’s comforting to know that God will take care of the wicked.
Psalms 37
Jumped to the Psalms this morning for some refreshment and assurance. Repeated confirmation that we can trust in Him.
I love how many time this chapter tells us to take delight or hope in the Lord! we should delight in His ways and not look at living a life pleasing to God as a chore or obligation. When we take Hope in the Lord and all the good that follows it should be easy to take up our own cross daily!
This is one of my favorite Psalms! It shows that God is intimately aware of what both the righteous and the wicked are doing and He will compensate both with what is fitting: blessing, protecting and providing for the righteous, and thwarting, judging and removing the wicked. For that reason we do not need to fret when evil people seem to succeed in their schemes. We can trust in the Lord and do good and not give in to anger or fear. We can trust God to take care of them, and thereby keep our eyes on Him and do what He would have us to do. What an awesome God, with awesome plans and provisions!
