Psalms 126-128 (NIV)

A song of ascents.
1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”…..Continue Reading

  1. Psalm 128:6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children and peace upon Israel.

I thank God for my children’s children, and their children too. God doesn’t promise perfect life outside of the curse in this world, though I wish no harm would ever come to them. Eg: Grand daughter’s “triumphal entry” on first day of school, broke her arm. There will always be woe. But today, after reading 126- 128, this verse spoke to me! Enjoy your little ones!
    Peace, gordy

    1. So sorry to hear of your granddaughter breaking her arm. Will pray for healing and comfort as she steps into a new school year.

  2. Psalm 126 God does great things!
Psalm 127 we need to remember that God is our foundation.
Psalm 128 remember to walk in the Lords ways, when we do we are Blessed!

  3. There are in Psalm 126;5,6 two verses that are used for winning souls to Christ which is great for that is what we need to be doing. But in this chapter it seems to applied more toward the people coming from captivity in physical terms. But I guess it could be applied to spiritual terms as well for before finding Christ we are in captivity and in bondage to sin. In Psalm 127 there are a few verses that I have heard a lot. Verses 1,3. [ Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.] Basically unless the Lord blesses the labour it is futile. In Psalm 128 we are blessed if we fear the Lord and walk in His ways. PS. 128;1 God bless us all.

  4. How wonderful it is to go from a place of defeat to.a place of victory, or a place of discipline to a place of blessing. There will be moments in our Christian lives when we struggle or have hardship, but it is comforting and assuring to know that God can always turn things around. Every day can be, well maybe today will be the day. We just need to keep our eyes on God and trust in Him and make sure He is building the house. It makes no sense to strive in our own strength to orchestrate things without being lead by God in what we do, convicted by God in why we do and empowered by God in how we do. Especially when it comes to raising a family. What a blessing children are. When I had 4, I would think of it as declaring blessing on my life based in Psalm 127:5. Yet how important to lead our children in godliness so we and they can be blessed in the way that Psalm 128 describes. We are always wise to follow God’s ways and He brings blessing upon us as we do to reenforce the value in following and trusting Him.

  5. All I can think of is that song:
Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return
And come with singing, unto Zion
And everlasting joy, shall be upon their heads…

They shall obtain, gladness and joy
And sorrow and mourning, shall flee away!

    Therefore the redeemed….

  6. When our suffering has ceased and the trial is past, the Lord restores us and gives us many blessings that brings forth rejoicing with joy and laughter.
If the Lord builds the house, nobody can tear it down (words taken from the song by Hope Darst).
Those who are obedient to the Lord will have prosperity in their labor and a stable family life.
