  1. How easy it is to agree with the Psalmist that it is pleasant and fitting to praise Him. He is so personal in nature that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds and yet is so glorious and powerful that He calls the stars by name. What a blessing to be related to and know that kind of God. And this balance of love and compassion and control and dominion over creation flows throughout the Psalm. The psalmist also makes clear who this great God shows favor to. It is the humble and those who fear Him who He upholds and provides for. He certainly will let us take care of ourselves and do things our way, but we really are foolish to do so, aren’t we? It is better to yield ourselves to the one who shows His power and care over all creation. How easy it is to marvel at Him when we see all He has made, all He has orchestrated, and all the strength and protection that He has given to His people. Yes, praise the Lord!

  2. 10His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
11but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who hope in his steadfast love.
