How fitting that I write this at night and recognize the glory due His name. Lifting up hands is a sign of surrender as well as a representation that something is higher that us. So how fitting that we would lift our hands to him and thereby surrender ourselves to Him and recognize the praise He is due!
This might seem like a silly thought, but are they blessing the Lord, or is He blessing them?

2 Lift up your hands to the holy place
and bless the Lord!
