  1. Again here we see God has a plan and a purpose. His thoughts are higher than ours and He does things with order according to His plans.
Makes me think of all the things I do in my life that I do impulsively and how much more I could follow God’s example and be purposeful in my decision.

  2. I think this demonstrates how God is concerned with the details of out lives, even if we don’t realize it. Praise God!

  3. This chapter is another example of God showing He is a God of order. The tribes are grouped together to form larger fighting units and the divisions are given location as well as their order moving out. It is significant that the Tent of Meeting is in the middle. The awareness of God’s presence and His availability reenforced and His worship intended to be at the center of their lives.

  4. Numbers 2 – it was interesting how he organized them by tribe. My study Bible says that people were not known by last name but by their family, it says it was easier to keep detailed genealogies and that was how to prove membership in God’s chosen nation. God always has a plan in everything he does.

  5. 32These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550. 33The Levites, however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34So the Israelites did everything the Lord commanded Moses; that is the way they encamped under their standards, and that is the way they set out, each of them with their clan and family.
