Genesis 13 (NIV)
Abram and Lot Separate
1 So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him. 2 Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.……Continue Reading
Noah built an altar, Mr. Ararat, thanking God.
Abram builds an altar between Hai and Beth-el, and calls on the name of the Lord.
Genesis 13, Abram leaves Egypt, and returns to his altar. He again calls on God.
Abram moves to Mamre, in Hebron, and builds an altar.
Though he separated from Lot, giving him first choice, God asserts all the land, even where Lot has chosen, will be his inheritance.

Genesis 13
It seems that Abrams is now getting with the program and trusting God. After a wasted trip to Egypt he is back in the land he started but this time with a new attitude. Out of love and his faith that God will provide he lets Lot choose where he will live in the land when it becomes apparent they must part ways. Abram did not show fear of worry this time in his decision and he let Lot take the nicer land knowing God will keep his promise to him and God reassures Abram of this promise as He walk the land with him. How awesome to see God walking and talking with Abram and sharing this plan with him!
Genesis 13
Because of so much wealth and the land could not support them borh. Abram and Lot parted ways and Abram allowed Lot to pick 1st where he would go and Abram would go opposite of that. Lots choice brought him near Sodom where there was terrible sin against the Lord. Abram moved again. And built another altar after the Lord showed him all that was his.
Genesis 13.
Genesis 13
Genesis 10-13; 1 Corinthians 5
Genesis 13
”And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”“
Genesis 13:14-17 NKJV
Not sure what’s going on right now in Israel. Oct 7 was brutal. Brutality continues. Fog of war.
I do know God keeps His promises.
Genesis 13
God is faithful to bless Abraham just as He said He would as well as those associated with him. Abraham is wise to recognize conflict brewing, as we all should, and seeks to find the best means of resolution. Blessed are the peacemakers after all. And although it would be Abram’s privilege as the older to take his preference, he operates in humility and thinks of his nephew above himself. But even if receiving the shorter stick, God’s hand on him (and us) is always more important than finagling a better deal. So God blesses Abram even more and assures him the land before him will be his and for his descendants. How significant this is when we consider the land spews the Israelites out when exile comes upon them due to their defying the covenant. And although Lot gets the better portion, it seems his heart is moving closer to the evil of Sodom. Once again it shows, it is far more important where we stand with God than what we gain from the world.
“All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.” God says he will give Abraham the land FOREVER, so we can be sure that this will be the case. And the number of Abraham’s offspring will be so great that it will be like the amount of dust on the earth. That is a LOT of people! Even though the evil powers and principalities will continue to try to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth, it will never happen.
