A Lament Over Pharaoh
1 In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first day, the word of the Lord came to me: 2“Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:
“ ‘You are like a lion among the nations;
you are like a monster in the seas

  1. Oh how far one can fall…comforted to know he is among many that have fallen as a result of pride, greed, and other evil rule Pharaoh will meet his end in the pit.
    I love the way God reminds us no matter how well off we feel and how well we feel like we are doing on our own it is just what He has allowed and He knows our heart and in His timing and by His hand it can all be lost. We need to fix our eyes on Him and receive the blessings He brings not our own temporary earthly stuff

  2. Once again Pharaoh is told of the destruction that awaits him amidst the security he has in what has been established in Egypt. It did make me think of the care God has for him and Egypt. Do you warn people that you do not care about? It is interesting to read God’s perspective on all this other nations as well. Others have suffered the fate that Pharaoh will eventually face.

  3. When it mentions “lain with the uncircumcised” is that just emphasizing that these are not Israelites or is it talking about being dishonored in death? Why does it say that every time?

    1. It is referring to their final destination after death. Being lain with the uncircumcised means being apart from God’s children/God’s home…ie hades at that time.

  4. It was God who allowed Pharaoh to spread terror in the land of the living and it God will be responsible for making Egypt a desolate land. God is in control of everything.
