  1. The emotions Mary must have been experiencing I can only imagine to be overwhelming. As a mom, I know the emotional state pregnancy and new motherhood brings but to have this happen in such a miraculous way with such massive implications is almost too much for anyone to handle. She must have been a very special person indeed! It is funny that even in her own praising while she is pregnant, after she gives birth she seems so taken back by the shepherds visit and their telling of the angel’s words about Jesus. I mean we all think our babies are perfect, but to hold actual perfection, to call the Savior of the world your son, just wow!

  2. Mary is so humble considering how God is using her in His plan. She recognizes how blessed she is, not because of who she is, but because of who God is. And He has overlooked those who might be more fitting in the world’s eyes and thereby has lifted up all those who are low in society. And you can only imagine the attention that Elisabeth and Zechariah get in the way John has come into the world and how this priest was made silent. And when he speaks, he too exalts God for the work He is doing in his life and in Israel. Even the name given John has people thinking about what this is all about. So God has brought together a lot, and He could have gotten Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem another way, but He choose to use the census that would assure Bethlehem would be crowded and thereby Jesus would be born in the humblest of ways. I was struck how often ti talked about the feeding box Jesus was born in. And to highlight the humility of this moment, who to tell but a bunch of shepherds. It is amazing how the Sovereign creator of the universe brought His Son into the world!

  3. Never forget reading these truths after the Holy Spirit came upon me. To read Mary’s words. Didn’t sound like the Mary I was told about for 30 years: The Queen of the universe. This humble prayer is from a young girl completely overwhelmed at Gods plan of choosing her to bring the messiah into the world. And after reading further, I was searching for more mention of Mary’s divinity, but it’s not there. To compare and hold equal any human being equal to Jesus is an abomination. Grew up surrounded by statues of humans. Always gave me a sick feeling. As Jesus was not easily found. Went to the church I grew up in after Holy Spirit engulfed me. Sat in an office with a priest to present my concerns. His office was full of statues. Started off ok. But soon I mentioned worshipping Mary. Of course he took offense. And I literally ran down the hallway and out the door. Religion has lied to me for the last time.!!

  4. PS. Don’t understand how there’s not 20-30 comments reading the life of Jesus My soul overflows when I read this time of year that Jesus left his throne in heaven came to this earth that he created as a human. For us???? The closer I get the more I realize how holy God is and how much unworthy and wretched I am. The grace of God is simply overwhelming!!!!!!

  5. Advent 2025 – Day 2

It is fascinating to see the power of God and how he used very ordinary people in His marvelous plan. The humility of both Mary and Elizabeth is inspiring! Unfortunately, some sects of Christianity are deceived into placing human beings on pedestals instead of solely recognizing the power of God in these miraculous events and the only One worthy of praise and recognition.

  6. Sometimes I find myself glossing over these songs. I was listening to an interview with John Rich and he was talking about the impact of music and songs, more powerful and memorable than statements.
”“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”“
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭76‬-‭79‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  7. God always does what he promises. We can know that when we read his Word and be comforted by it in times of difficulty. So we can praise him as Mary did, knowing that although she would face strife in the situation, she will be provided for. She will be blessed for her faith, belief, and willingness to serve the Lord. Zecharia’s message from God describes what Jesus will do for us: He will give us freedom, save us from our enemies, show us mercy, give us the ability to serve him without fear, bring light to into our darkness, guide us to peace. Making the decision to follow Jesus is a NO BRAINER!

  8. Advent Day 2
    Life of Jesus.
Let there be peace to all who gives praise to him!
They went running to see Mary and Joseph as soon as the Angels left. They found everything they had been told.
