Reading along with us in Romans? Here’s today’s reading:

Romans 4 (ESV)

What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

  1. Today I am reading in Hebrews 11 and exploring ALL of the stories of these people of faith in the O.T. God has ALWAYS related to his people by faith.

  2. This morning I’m reading Romans 4, but the way I’m doing this book is going back and rereading the previous chapters first, since each takes only 3-4 minutes to read. The entire book of Romans takes maybe 60 minutes to read. I think of all the thousands of hours I’ve squandered reading CNN and Fox news (easily an hour or two a day…EASILY) over the years. Wow!

    Isaiah 55:1-13. Yes.

  3. 3For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.” 4Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. 5And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.

23But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, 24but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, 25who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

I love how God can sum up amazing Truths.❤️
